Article about Entertaiment
Entertaining is to amuse, titillate, or please. Entertainment may take many forms, from a private choice of pre-recorded media for an individual to be enjoyed alone; to a meal adapted for two; to a party for hundreds; to a performance intended for thousands. The word is derived from the Medieval Latin intertenere, meaning “to hold inside,” and its Indo-European root is ten, meaning to stretch or enlarge. The experience of entertaining has become so strongly associated with amusement that one common understanding of the idea is fun and laughter, although many entertainments also have a serious purpose, as in various styles of ceremony, festival, non secular pageant, or satire.
